Organizational Leadership - Admission Requirements & Application Procedures
The goal is to admit highly qualified students, with clear
career objectives, who
choose to enter the doctoral program after obtaining a master’s
degree. To apply for admission to the doctoral program, the
applicant must complete the following
steps:
1. Submit a formal
application with the non-refundable application fee of
$50. Send all application process materials to the attention
of David Nelson, Graduate Admissions.
2. Send a current resume to include a career
objective, previous undergraduate and graduate work, work
experience, and special recognition or awards.
3. Send at least three recommendations from
individuals best qualified to judge
the character, industry, and academic potential of the applicant.
- It is imperative that your endorsers
provide a narrative of not more than 500 words. The narrative
is meant to be an enhancement to the recommendation form,
and will aid the Selection Committee with their process.
4. You are expected to write and submit
with the application a 4 to 5 page typed and double-spaced essay.
The essay should be a sample of your ability to write and
think at the doctoral level.
- How will the attainment of the Doctor of Education degree with a major in Organizational Leadership enhance your ability to fulfill
your life purpose?
- What is your vision for creating
constructive change within your particular discipline?
- What is your understanding of the concept
of leadership and of the need for it in your professional
field?
- What is the most pressing leadership
issue facing the leaders of your organization, and
those in your field?
- What is your understanding and capability to engage in online research, statistical analysis, and the integration of computer technology in completing and submitting assignments?
5. Arrange to have your undergraduate
transcript and graduate transcript
sent from the accredited institution granting the respective
degree.
6. Arrange to take (or already have taken)
either:
- the Graduate
Management Admission Test (GMAT),
- the general test portion of the Graduate
Record Examination (GRE), or
- the Miller
Analogies Test (MAT).
